Alex Merced's Libertarianism

"The solution must address the root cause: bringing people together in a way that is more conducive to peaceful coexistence and freedom."

My libertarian perspective is one that believes in fostering a culture of pluralism, kindness, forgiveness, and empathy. The goal: create an environment where the demand for state intervention is as small as possible.

While educating on the follies of excessive state intervention is important, the calls for intervention don't exist in a vacuum. They often exist in the context of fear, hate, tribalism, and other negative emotions. The solution must address the root cause of those emotions and bring people together in a way that is more conducive to peaceful coexistence and freedom.

This requires building community, fostering understanding, and creating a society where people feel safe and supported, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. Through this approach we can create a world where the demand for state intervention is significantly reduced, and where individuals are free to live their lives on their own terms.
